The away fixture earlier this season had produced an exciting game which we had played out with many key players missing and with only 11 players. With a full squad to choose from, including the return of Oli Murray from long term injury, we had a much better chance to earn 3 points.

In the opening 2 mins a wonderful run and cross from Brad Monelle down the right wing put the ball over to Kyle Curtis and his side foot just went over the bar. St Aldhelms replied by putting on the pressure with a good 15 minute spell of attacking football. Credit to our defence thought as chance after chance was resisted with both James Hurrell Smith and James Boulton playing very strongly. This spurred on our forward play with Danny McCarthy and Mo Bouaziz turning possession into chances with the help of wide men Jordan Knight and Sir Charles Frampton. A long ball from James Boulton to Lewis Watt gave him an opportunity but his toe poke just went wide. A free kick from James Boulton found Lewis Watts head but his attempt from 12 yards just failed to beat the keeper. Another great run from Brad ghosting past the full back and a pull back to Lewis Watt whose shot into the far corner was just saved by the keeper. Just before the end of the half a cross was put in to Charles Frampton who laid the ball back to Mo Bouaziz but again his shot failed to hit the back of the net. At half time we were the dominant team but couldn’t unlock the St Aldhelms defence.

The second half continued where the first half had finished. Brad Monelle made some good runs which kept the pressure on the opponents. As we continued to push for a goal St Aldhelms did have a couple of chances but Craig Francis in goal kept a very good clean sheet with some good saves. Meanwhile our chances continued to be created. Scott Palma was put through behind their defence but his shot just failed to beat the keeper. A good run and cross from the left by Lewis Watt found Scott Gregory but his precise shot went straight into the keepers hands. In the final minutes Oli Randall had a shot but it disappeared wide along with our final chance of winning the match.

It was a case of 2 points dropped today as we dominated the match but came away with a 0-0 draw. However many positives were gained and in particular to Craig Francis who kept his second consecutive clean sheet to earn today's Man of the Match award.
